Bronzor Illustration

Bronzor

The pre-evolution of Bronzong. Many researchers believe Bronzor were once reflective and it is said that ancient people believed the symbol on their back are imbued with mysterious powers. Bronzor are decently beginner friendly, although it is important to note that they are quite heavy for their size and evolve into a larger and much heavier Pokémon. Bronzong are also more difficult to care for than Bronzor.

Having raised a Bronzor (who is now a Bronzong), I can easily say that they aren't a challenge to raise. They don't require much bathing / grooming, and don't have much of an appetite (although they WILL over-feed themselves if given free access to metal shavings or Pokémon treats).

Food

Like many steel types, Bronzor don't eat often (and usually only eat only metal shavings) but can enjoy poképuffs, malasadas, castellia cones and other pokémon treats on occasion. They will over-feed themselves and should not be given free access to food. They only need to eat once or twice a month.

Grooming / Maintenance

Despite requiring a non-zero amount of grooming and maintenance, Bronzor hate being bathed, especially being shined. It's said that a thoroughly polished Bronzor would reflect the truth, but I doubt anyone has ever gotten that far. Bronzor do not rust, but do tarnish. It's up to you whether you take care of the discoloration or not.

NOTE: Bronzong, Bronzor's evolution, requires a LOT of up-keep when it comes to bathing. If you plan on getting a Bronzor for the ease of cleaning please reconsider or at least give them an Everstone to hold.

How to remove discoloration on a Bronzor's coat
Use a microfiber cloth to dust the dirt off your Bronzor. Use Q-tips to remove dirt from the designs on Bronzor's coat. Mix a tablespoon or so of natural dishsoap in a bucket, dip the microfiber cloth in and gently wipe down Bronzor's coat. Afterwards, rinse Bronzor with water to remove any leftover soap residue.

Hibernation

Although Bronzor themselves do not hibernate, It is important to note that Bronzong DO hibernate and can sleep for thousands of years!

Ranking System

rank 2
Considering how much upkeep is required for their evolution, I give Bronzor a rank of 2. Although I would recommend this Pokémon to beginners, I would only recommend them to very motivated beginners.
